With final preparations being done to the charter boat Breezy 1 in Winthrop Harbor, it is a sign that the 2026 salmon fishing season out of North point marina in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois is close. The marina has docks being moved and set into place as we type. Final boat and tackle preparations are being made and launch will be in just a couple weeks. By the end of April our Midwest weather should become stable “less cold fronts” and with that becomes stable fishing. Right out of the gate the best fishing will be for Coho salmon and that bit typically continues into mid-late June. If fast action for salmon as well as numbers of salmon is your choice of fishing then don’t wait until its over to call and reserve your date on the charter boat Breezy 1 for those tasty salmon.
